Clearing History Away

Posted by lincolnparkdartmouth on May 22, 2012 at 11:30 AM Comments comments (14)

Well they will be making homes on the land of Lincoln Park. They have started clearing the land even more and are currently leaving what remaining structures are there intact for a possible public open house.

For the best up to date information please join Lincoln Park on FB where members are posting pictures of the clearing of the land and information." target="_blank" rel="nofollow">

Very sad to see history and memories being cleared away...

More videos and photos

I've added a few more videos that I created to the video page. These include a video I created about the Comet last October as well as a video I created this year with a song by the band Linkin Park. They are named after Lincoln Park in CA.

There is also a video called "Walk Right In" that I made last week. I felt it was about time I made a video that wasn't so depressing.

Ray DiPirro has been sending me some wonderful photos from his trips to LP since 2002. Check out his photo album in the gallery.

Thanks to those who have been commenting, signing the guestbook with their fond memories and to those who are signing the petition. We are up to 31 signatures at the moment and more are being added daily. Thanks so much for taking the time to sign it.

Thanks so much to Ray DiPirro for sending me some amazing photos of some of his trips to Lincoln Park several years ago. Ray has his own photo album in the Photo Gallery.

I've also uploaded photos from the Lincoln Park Brochure that I own. They have been placed into the "Later Photos" album.

You'll also notice a Petition has been created as well as a page about working to "Keep the Park in Lincoln Park" Any help is greatly appreciated.

Comet Collapses

Posted by lincolnparkdartmouth on May 15, 2009 at 11:16 PM Comments comments (3)

On May 14 or 15th the entire back portion of the Comet (photo in my banner above) collapsed. The wreckage is massive. Most of it collapsed inward onto itself and only a little has fallen out onto the parking lot. Amazingly the chain link fence survived.

The Comet was in decent shape despite it's age and the condition it has been left in, however I believe now there is no chance of salvaging it. Far too much has been lost.

New site!

Posted by lincolnparkdartmouth on May 13, 2009 at 4:46 PM Comments comments (1)

I decided to create a new site for Lincoln Park, separate from my personal site. I'll have more room here to add photos and videos as time allows. I'm continuing to purchase LP items and will keep adding them to the website.

I've received some lovely photos of families enjoying themselves at Lincoln Park over the years. Please continue to send these to me and be sure to let me know how you would like to be credited for them.
